Twenty-five year old Sarah Khululiwe Shezi is amongst the ladies who are competing for the ‘Miss Grace South Africa’ title. The Miss Grace South Africa pageant is the third largest pageant after Miss South Africa and Mrs South Africa. This pageant seeks to not just find she who is beautiful on the outside but she who embodies a bold character,  upright morals and is gracious in word and deed. The contestants of the pageant are expected to raise awareness about gender based violence through the campaign ‘Pink Fist Up’.

‘I saw the pageant advertised on Facebook and I decided to enter’ says an excited Shezi. Shezi is not just a pretty face; she matriculated from Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High in 2011, Graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a Bachelor degree in Social Sciences in Housing. She then enrolled for a Post graduate diploma in property management and development at WITS. She is currently working as a Junior estate manager, which is considered a portfolio manager within the corporate real estate.

Clothing designers can also make use of the opportunity to have Sarah model their clothes at the Miss Grace fundraising gala happening in Cape Town on the 14th of December 2018. Those who wish to sponsor her financially are also welcome to do so. ‘I’m so excited to be a part of something that not only grooms me as a person, but also makes an effort to highlight the consequences of abuse and the ripple effects of it to society as a whole’ says Shezi.
